St. Francis embraced poverty, not because he despised creation, but because he wanted to receive it with open hands. He knew that to love creation rightly, we must see it as gift, not possession.

Sainthood didn’t stop with medieval martyrs or ancient apostles. It’s not frozen in stained glass or buried in church history books. God is still raising up saints right now. There are ordinary people doing extraordinary things through faith. Some lived just decades ago, and some walked through airports we walk through.

When Jesus gave the Apostles the Holy Spirit, he also gave them the mission of the Church. Therefore, we were given the same mission when we received the Holy Spirit in the sacraments.

When we drink of the water of God's love, it allows the Holy Spirit to move through us, and bring life into the world.
